WHO MAY ATTEND? Any Dance , Musical Theatre (song & Dance), Acro school may participate in our event. Studio directors may email us to receive a registration package. SOLOISTS... Anyone registered in a dance studio that is attending our event can register solos/ duets with currently no limit on number of solos/ duets per dancer, the only stipulation is that the soloist MUST be registered in group routines also . You must have your schools permission to register individual pieces (solos) and the solo must be attached to a dance school.
PHOTOGRAPHY INFORMATION At the request of the studios and for the safety of your children, videotaping and flash photography is strictly prohibited during the entire event. All participating dancers authorize the use of their image in photos and video for The Dance Summit or WISH publicity and advertisement purposes. Parents or students or representatives for Studios caught videotaping or taking photographs run the risk of disqualifying their group.
MUSIC INFORMATION Teachers or studio representative responsible for playing music. CD & IPod connection will be provided **BE SURE TO BRING A BACK UP!
PROP INFORMATION General props are allowed, but must be taken on and off the stage in a timely manner. It is the sole responsibility of each studio to ensure that its props are taken on and off stage. The Dance Summit /WISH staff cannot be responsible for props. It is also the studio's responsibility to ensure that the stage is completely clean and clear after the routine is finished. Larger PROPS will need to be listed on registrations.
ENTRY INFORMATION/ FEES We have an early bird rate that studios are encouraged to take advantage of PLUS a reservation system for studios. *Accepted Entry fees are NON REFUNDABLE. *EXCEPTION: If Dance Summit/ WISH event is full upon receiving your studio entires, we will make a courtesy call to you promptly and return your entries and payment. *Dance Summit is an event company whereby our customer is the Dance Studio. We deal direct with the studio directors so that they have the most up to date information for their dance families. Although we appreciate and love all of our participating dance parents and students, we ask that you direct all of your questions regarding payments, scheduling to your amazing dance studio directors!

ENTRY INFORMATION/FORMS VIA EMAIL ... NEW IN 2020! PDF registration & summary forms are accepted in email form. MUST BE PDF form if sent vial email or WORD/PAGES DOC. NO scanned registrations will be permitted via email. One form per routine, large routines will require the two pages per routine. Summary forms must be sent with the registration form package. VIA POST... An official entry form (photocopies are fine) must be filled out for each number entered.
ADDITIONAL ENTRY INFORMATION *Timely postmarks do not guarantee acceptance of entries. Entries are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. *Festival/Competition is limited to time available. We will not extend past a three day event. *EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION : Post Marked before October 31st PRE-SEASON REGISTRATION: Post Marked December 1ST *REGULAR REGISTRATION: SPACE PERMITTING Post Marked before January 31ST *Late Registration: If space is available, late entries will be permitted with an additional administration fee. INFORMATION FOR TEACHERS, STUDENTS & PARENTS TO CONSIDER... RE-DANCES OR TECHNICAL PROBLEMS Judges or studio may stop a number in progress and request that it be repeated if the following occurs: *If The sound or lighting equipment fails. * If a disturbance occurs beyond the performers control. NOTE: **If a dancer forgets their routine, they can re-dance up to & including level 2.
SCHEDULING AND TIMELINESS All numbers must appear according to their scheduled sequence unless a Dance Summit rep. grants permission otherwise. Competing dancers should be ready 30 minutes prior to their scheduled competition time. If the competition is running ahead of schedule, you will be expected to perform.
DANCE OFF ( OUT OF CATEGORY) In extraordinary cases only and at the sole discretion of Dance Summit, contestants may be allowed to dance “out of category”. Contestants dancing out of category or “dancing off” will receive adjudication comments & medal only. They will not receive a placing or cash award. These routines are permitted to dance only at a time approved by Dance Summit.
All attendees authorize the use of their images in photos and video for any and all advertising or promotional purposes for Dance Summit/ WISH.
AGE & LEVEL LIMITS * Age as of March 1st in the current dance season Calculate the level by adding and averaging all years of dance training. 0.5 is rounded to the higher level Training received before age 6 is not included Dancers may not enter in a category lower than danced in previous years. There is a division based on years of training and amount of hours training per week. Dance studios may email us for the full registration packages. FAMILY FRIENDLY ROUTINES Dance and art cross a broad range of styles, taste and appropriateness. Please note that Dance Summit/ WISH are family friendly events.
MEDAL STANDINGS See Registration Package for scoring system TEACHER ONLY CRITIQUE At The Dance Summit, we realize there are things judges might want to say JUST to the teacher. Maybe it's about a particular dancer, a costume, or choreography suggestions. Therefore, if a judge has a TEACHERS ONLY critique , it will be included as a separate sheet for teachers. This way Teachers will receive feedback for their eyes only!
